Meet the Team
Andy Offord: Partner
(Straight black coffee)
Andy grew up on a market garden. Pocket money was earned by cutting lettuce and celery and picking tomatoes. Horticulture was in his blood. He graduated from the University of Bath with an Honours Degree in Horticulture in 1983, specialising in amenity horticulture, and then spent the following six and a half years in retail management working for Hurrans Garden Centres,
Andy and his wife Alison started their own business in 1989, Living Landscapes was born. Within 12 months they also set about building their own house, doing most of the work themselves.
Now, with over 33 years of practical landscaping experience as well, Andy can find a solution to most landscaping or gardening problems!
Chris King: Landscape Manager
(White Tea, No Sugar)
Chris started his working life on a fruit farm before progressing to Hurrans Garden Centres. He was managing the shrub department at their Churchdown branch when Andy offered him a position at Living Landscapes in 1990.
Armed with a good working knowledge of plants Chris went on to develop his construction skills working with Andy.
After 18 years with Living Landscapes, Chris took the decision to go out on his own. Due to changes in his personal life, Chris rejoined Living Landscapes in 2014. He is responsible for day to day management of the teams. Chris has a fine eye for detail and always ensures that projects are finished to the highest standard.
Mike Howells: Senior Landscaper
(White tea, no sugar)
Mike first joined Living Landscapes from a manufacturing environment. He started in 2006 but left after just over a year to return to his old employer.
The pull was too strong though, and he rejoined us in 2011 to enjoy the delights of garden creation once more. Mike is multi-skilled and capable in all the various aspects of garden construction. His work is always of the highest standard.
Ryan Morgan: Landscaper
(White coffee, 2 sugars)
Ryan joined us in 2013 as an apprentice. He attended Holme Lacy college to train in tree surgery, successfully completing the course.
Ryan normally works on our routine garden maintenance rounds: mowing lawns, hedge trimming, tending borders and undertaking any skilled pruning work.
He is also our pond maintenance specialist, cleaning ponds and undertaking routine pump and filter maintenance.
As Ryan’s skill set also includes hard landscaping, he will also be found working on construction projects with other team members.
Alex Braithwaite: Landscaper
(White coffee, no sugar)
Alex joined us in 2017, when he moved from Wiltshire to the Forest of Dean. Bert, as he is usually called, had previously worked mostly on soft landscaping with his former employer. He has now added a full range of hard landscaping skills to his repertoire during his time with us.
Jack Badham: Landscaper
(White tea, no sugar)
Jack started working with us at the beginning of 2020, moving from a warehouse environment. He had previous experience as a part-time gardener, and also as a general labourer. From the labouring duties he undertook when he first started, Jack has now developed many hard landscaping skills.
Myron Howells: Landscape assistant
(White tea, no sugar)
Usually known as Sid, Myron originally came to us for work experience while at school, and then summer work. He studied carpentry at college, and has a good bit of chippy experience. He started back with us full-time in 2023 as a landscape assistant, working alongside the other members of the team and is building up his skill set.
